As Delia restores the inn with the help of Marcos, a local handyman with his own complicated past, she uncovers photographs, recordings, and letters that suggest Claudine's vanishing act was something far more deliberate—and dangerous—than anyone knew. But some stories come with a cost, and Delia must decide whether to expose the truth or protect it. This is a novel about the weight of silence, the stories we inherit, and what it means to finally stop running.
